Twangy Americana with songs ranging from classic honky-tonk to gospel-tinged country ballads. Love gone wrong, love gone right, and stories about dusting yourself off and moving on.

Originally from rural Massachusetts, Christa Joy grew up in a teacher preacher truck-driving kind of family. She spent the earliest years of her songwriting telling stories of her rural upbringing, the illness and death of her mother, and the brokenhearted years that followed this loss. When her daughter was born in 2015, Christa’s world shifted again. She lightened up, found her old cowgirl boots, dusted off her best hat, and began to write the kind of songs that eventually became "Get On, Heart!"

Joy has opened for Loudon Wainwright III, Antje Duvekot, and Meg Hutchinson. She has played at many notable New England venues, including the Parlor Room, the Iron Horse, Club Passim, and the Dream Away Lodge. Her Kickstarter campaign for her third full-length album, "Get On, Heart!" was highlighted as one of No Depression’s “Crowdfunding Campaigns of the Week.”

"Get On, Heart!" was recorded mostly live, co-produced by Christa Joy and Grant Wicks in Easthampton, MA.
